after pursuing graduation i joined in civil services coaching . not getting any job,my father's dream of i becoming a civil servant , and my interest in diversity are the major factors which compelled me to undergo this coaching .
I used to attend the classes regularly with lots of enthusiasm and listen classes very carefully as they were very interesting and imparts a lot of knowledge which is almost impossible to get this kind of knowledge in these many diverse subjects.I strongly recommend the people who have enthusiasm to gain knowledge about society , to understand why govt is doing particular things ,and why does it rain more during monsoon season , how does the policies and politics of the different countries effect india,what is sensex what is stock market to attend the civil services coaching .
and it teaches you an important thing in our life how to read a news paper? it changes your perception towards the world .
coming to my journey of five months of coaching , there's no exaggeration in saying that its the most sophisticated period of my life .It's the period when i got exposed to whole lot of things . met with people from different sections . it's only after meeting these people i realized my real potential ,they boosted my confidence , one more important thing that i should mention here is about my communication skills .
which went up like a jet rocket .it was only because of these skills i failed to get job .
after a tough preparation of a year i failed to clear prelims.i knew that the most important trait that
every aspirant should develop is strong mindset.as i developed it the disappointment of not clearing prelims dint bother me much .I started introspecting myself started analyzing the all possible flaws that i had .
i have made a list of the mistakes that i have made . . .
the list is
1] studying with out analysis
{ i wanna share few examples i've spent almost 20 important days on a part of history called midieval india which hardly fetched me 4 marks , one of my peer mr.ravi almost neglected this topic and laid more emphasis on modern india which is important question area . }
2] failure in finding sources
{ i came to know about bible of economy ramesh k singh in the middle of my preparation
and dont know about a good material for environment and bio diversity till the end of exam}
3]preparing in isolation
{this might be helpful to the people who have a good idea about the sources and good contacts of he people who already have appeared the exam .but this is the major drawback of mine.i never tried to participate in discussions and forums . and i never read any blogs of experts. }
AND the positive part is when i was watching random videos on youtube i got struck at one which was about 80/20 principle. which was very relevant to me . it gave lot of examples like 80 percent of the crimes are made by 20 percent of the criminals etc ..
one idea popped in my mind is it applicable in my case also ?? instead of giving equal importance to all subjects and all topics in every subject why shouldn't i identify some topics which are more relevant for this exam.and prepare thoroughly than others .
this one idea changed me complete style of my preparation . i started analyzing the topic which i am going to read . what kind of questions can be asked ? and how many ?
